When Congressman Allen West was first elected 2 years ago he committed to his constituents that he would send them a detailed report each week as to what he was doing in his service for them, what the issues were that he was encountering and what progress he was making in addressing those issues. NO other Congressional Representative in the country does this.
I hope that Colonel West will continue his service to the nation after – long after -- this January. The nation needs him and many others like him, be they in the Republican Party or in a different, conservative, party as I suggested here.
If Colonel West takes the former route, there may be more support in Florida than during the recent election debacle. However, if he takes the latter route there will be tremendous support nationwide from those of us who agree with him and will pursue to the best of our abilities the commitments he has made and is prepared to make. That seems the best way to cause those commitments to be realized across the nation.
What did Allen West do to make him special? Sorry, I don’t see it. West just looks like another cookie cutter ideologue, to me.
