Almost certainly satire, this rings sufficiently true that one might almost believe it. Just to be sure it was satire, I “Googled” it and found very similar articles in The Washington Times Communities section for February 8th and Live Leak for March 5th, neither expressly identified as satire. Some commenters figured it out. Sadly, many did not. At least it’s funny.

This article about the lashing of a fifteen year old girl is neither satire nor the least funny; it is shameful.

It’s hard to believe, but a 15-year-old rape survivor has been sentenced to be whipped 100 times in public! Let’s put an end to this lunacy by hitting the Maldives government where it hurts: the tourism industry.

The girl’s stepfather is accused of raping her for years and murdering the baby she bore. Now the court says she must be flogged for “sex outside marriage” with a man who has not even been named! President Waheed of the Maldives is already feeling global pressure on this, and we can force him to save this girl and change the law to spare other victims this cruel fate. This is how we can end the War on Women – by standing up every time an outrage like this happens. (Emphasis in original.)

Save the girl? Maybe, but even without the (probably fatal) one hundred lashes she will still be scarred for life. Change the law? Highly unlikely. Islamism is rarely swayed by western expressions of outrage.

Yet many in our own society view Islamism from a blindly multicultural perspective. What does that say about our own society? Is the Republican Conservative War on Women so far worse than the atrocious behavior alleged to have occurred in the Maldives that one gets “feminist” and Librul juices flowing and the other does not? Efforts to deny free contraceptives and abortifacients? Horrors! One hundred lashes for being raped? Yawn.

How about the murder of the Fogel Family in Israel early last year by peace loving “Palestinians” heroes? Yawn. The “Palestinians” are heroes, the Fogel children must have been Israeli terrorists.

Is there massive unwillingness to diverge from multicultural beliefs that embrace Islam as the Religion of Peace? That look to the Muslim Brotherhood as the savior of peace in the Middle East? Where are we going with this? Perhaps a similar article about the re-blogged Taliban in Chicago article will someday pass for serious reportage.

Taliban to Send Peace-Keeping Advisers to Chicago

As negotiations for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan have once again come to a halt,
the Taliban Supreme Council has offered to level the playing field by
sending a group of 400 battle-hardened Taliban peacekeepers to the U.S.
city of Chicago, to help pacify one of the most violent regions in the
Great Plains area of the North American continent.

With many years of combat experience in violent areas of their own country and
having fought rebels, insurgents, villagers, urban militias, rival drug
lords, as well as Soviet and American occupying forces on foot, horses,
camels, donkeys, and trucks, they may be just what the Chicago city
officials need to pacify their own population and bring the recently publicized
murder rate under control.

Details as to the logistical challenges have…
